Chairman's message

Welcome to the Central Branch Website of the APWA Kentucky Chapter. We are excited to share with you chapter initiatives, events and how you can become more involved in chapter, state, and national activities of APWA.

Our chapter maintains several standing committees and encourages member participation.  Committees include:

• Academic Scholarship Awards; this committee oversees our scholastic competition providing students with a competitive academic activity in pursuit of cash prizes.  The activity challenges student to apply real-world knowledge to the services of the public works environment;

• Annual Golf Scramble; this has been a long-standing tradition with the Central Branch with many participants holding the last Friday of August open nearly a year ahead of time.  The Annual Golf Scramble is a key fund-raising initiative for the chapter in support of the Academic Scholarship activity;

• ROADEO Competition; this committee coordinates the events associated with skid steer and mini-excavator skill competitions.  Part of the state and national competition circuit, the Central Branch ROADEO Competition is the starting place for higher levels of competition;

• Quarterly Membership Meetings and Guest Speakers; quarterly guest speakers and membership meetings provide members with an introduction to a special projects or initiatives in our community;

• State Conference; the State Conference rotates amongst the four state chapters. The eventful conference agenda requires a number of  volunteers to help make this an outstanding single day event for the chapter; and

• Webinar Hosts; APWA National promotes several webinar sessions. We seek member hosts to provide a convenient location for members to gather and participate in these webinars or lunch-and-learn events.  This is a great way to connect and learn with other chapter members.

Quarterly membership meetings are open for all members and any guests that are interested in attending.   Please let us know of any exciting projects that you would like to learn more about, and we will work to get a representative to a future quarter meeting .
